Greg Brown, Administrator of CAF I, CAF II and CAF III
Greg performs contract CFO and other consulting services via his company, Cardinal Finance. He has domestic and international venture capital investing experience, and has been CFO of numerous venture capital-backed and early stage public companies.
Camille Cunningham, Director of Operations
Camille cultivates and screens investment opportunities, as well as directs Charlotte Angel Fund's due diligence efforts. Camille held various operational management roles in the financial services sector before devoting her efforts to the North Carolina entrepreneurial community.
CAF I Board
Ed Hamilton, Director
Ed is a private investor focusing on residential real estate, early stage venture capital and the public equity and option markets. He spent over 20 years in investment banking, running debt trading desks at Bank of America and Bank of Boston. Ed also served as a director of IMAF Charlotte, an angel fund investing in the Carolinas.
Tony Philipp, Director
Ken was CFO of ScentAir, the global industry leader in sensory branding and comprehensive scent marketing solutions. He is an experienced financial and operations executive with industry experience in consumer goods and services, real estate, and financial products.
CAF II Board
Rob Cummings, Director
Rob is a seasoned entrepreneur, angel investor, and former SaaS founder. He co‑founded DealCloud in 2011, raised $10M+ in venture capital, and led its acquisition by a Silicon Valley software firm in 2018; today it operates as a key unit of NASDAQ‑listed Intapp. He later served as General Partner and Technology Operating Partner at Falfurrias Capital and now, semi‑retired, remains active as an angel investor while teaching MBA entrepreneurship at UNC Charlotte.
ANGEL RUTLEDGE, Director
Angel Rutledge is a serial tech entrepreneur, having co-founded with her husband Dan Rutledge, SignUpGenius and Meetify and selling a majority stake of SignUpGenius in 2017 when it was serving over 100 million users a year. Since then, Angel has advised entrepreneurs and nonprofits, served on the board of Charlotte Angel Fun II, and gotten master’s degrees at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.
CAF III Board
Kate Frear, Director
Kate is Co-Founder and CEO at Joyntly, a behavioral tech startup delivering scalable manager training solutions to businesses. She is a former professor of organizational behavior at the Wake Forest School of Business and SMU Cox School of Business. She supported innovation and new product development as a research scientist at the Center for Creative Leadership.
Peter Barry, Director
Peter is an active private investor following a 34-year career in investment banking, primarily at Wells Fargo and its predecessors. His responsibilities included managing the private debt and equity placement team and the leveraged loan distribution desk.
Maria Mascia, Director
Maria is a managing director at Salem Lake Capital, a private asset management firm headquartered in Charlotte. She has a decade of investment banking and investment analysis experience, including portfolio management of a multi-billion dollar fixed income portfolio and as a research analyst responsible for the origination and execution of all non-agency RMBS research produced for institutional investors.

Spencer Disher, Director
Spencer currently serves as an angel investor and advisor to various startups, and is Chair of the board of NC Idea and serves on the board and investment committee of United Methodist Foundation of Western NC. He volunteers in a financial capacity for various not-for-profit organizations and with Habitat for Humanity. He previously co-managed the startup and ongoing operations of a multi-billion dollar investment subsidiary of Natixis, a multinational French financial institution.
Luke Walling, Director
Luke is the CEO and president of Temprano, which helps successful emerging market software companies go to market in North America. He founded Walling Data, which he sold to AVG Technologies in 2010. He has held board positions with startup successes like SharpSpring. Walling holds board member experience in several multi-million-dollar business exits.
Nicole Steiger, Director
Nicole currently owns and operates several bridal boutiques and brands within the bridal market in NC and in Canada. As a member of CAF II and III, Nicole's area of focus includes supply chain, sales and marketing.
